Manifesto: Why reimagine the classics?

Manifesto: Why reimagine the classics?

At UPA Editora, we believe that the stories that shaped our childhood are not museum pieces, but living organisms that should grow with us.

The Red Capuchin, Hansel and Gretel and The Three Little Pigs They are more than tales; These are emotional maps that help us to navigate the world. But the world has changed. And the stories also need to change or maybe not?

We reimagined these classics with a contemporary vision and found in the L´ÉCOLE DES LOISIRS, for the art of the authors Kimiko and Margaux Duraux:

  • Current resonance: Narratives and aesthetics for which they reflect the literary art of today — autonomy, diversity and resilience in a digital and global world.
  • The art of digital transition: In a time of fast screens, the physical book needs to be an object of desire. Through modern illustrations and a sophisticated visual curation, we transform reading into an immersive experience.
  • Bridge between generations: We offer parents the nostalgia of what they know and to their children the fascination of the new. It is in this sharing that magic happens.

We are not just publishing books. We are ensuring that the "Once Upon a Time" continues to make sense in the "Now". We want today's children to see themselves on these pages as much as we saw each other in the past.

The translation and production of this book benefited from the support of the PRR, within the scope of the measure internationalization, modernization and digital transition of the book and authors, which promotes the publication in Portugal of authors from the European Union.
